Kawaii in Hawaii goes to the Pan-Pacific Festival at Ala Moana

Aloha and welcome to a special shopping episode of Kawaii in Hawaii. Yesterday we had attended a small portion of the Pan-Pacific festival here in Honolulu. We went to our local mall Ala Moana. Let me tell you a bit about Ala Moana. It's the biggest open air mall in Hawaii and with it's esthetics of koi ponds and beautiful greenery it's quite a relaxing environment. Sounds of classic Hawaiian music play through out the mall and the stores are nice and cold which is a great relaxer after being in the hot sun. It's a must visit for anyone coming to Oahu.

The Pan-Pacific usually happens in June and is a celebration of Pacific life and Japanese culture. Usually it highlights the culture of Hawaii and Japan with elaborate hula routines from Halau in Japan. This year we had a special appearance by Ultra Man! Of course Rickey had to tell me to calm down and stay Kawaii  because I was soo excited to watch the Ultra Man display they had. I apologize for the grain photos but we only had our cell phones on us this time and the lighting is really awful.

On this trip we did do some shopping. The newest edition of Japanese stores that has just opened here Samantha Thavasa. Samantha Thavasa is. A high end retail store for purses, bag accessories and various goods like handkerchiefs and room accessories. I had bought a handkerchief to better match my coordinate do the day.

Totemo Kawaii! The handkerchief is made of fine cotton and is only $12 and is a dark grey and pink.

Another thing we found at the mall at a small food court kiosk called Yamamoto Kansai is Animal Shaped doughnuts. Yes that's right! Hawaii has the current trend in Kawaii Doughnuts. They call them Kawaii Dobutsu Doughnuts. For Rickey he had a milk and cereal neko and a regular white chocolate kuma-chan. On a scal of Love's Bakery to Regal Diner in doughnuts the texture was Love's Bakery but the taste was Regal Diner worthy. I had a strawberry buta and a green tea kero. I have yet to eat them because they're much too kawaii to eat to me. I'm sorry for using Japanese Romaji but that's the names they used for them at Yamamoto Kansai.

It's just soo hard to eat them when they have such kawaii faces.

We then ended the day playing a little bit of my favorite game which is Music GunGun2 at the arcade. My favorite songs to play are Bad Apple, Just be Friends, and Go My Way. Of course with my outfit we attracted a lot of people wondering what was up.
This was taken right before the crowd started showing up.So after a long day of fun and hula we went home.

Until next adventure!

This trip was a special trip. We actually went in hopes of getting a particular item but left with a totally unexpected surprise. Today we left with three new key chains that are collectables that are a must need for any Sailor Moon fan.

The service at MiniQ is top notch and knowledgable. The staff are very pleasant and are willing to speak to anyone. Their prices are really well priced and their items are 100% genuinely the real deal. They do have an online shop so please don't hesitate to look them up.

Kawaii In Hawaii does Summer Lolita Day

Aloha! Kawaii in Hawaii put together a little Lolita Date for the Summer International Lolita Day. It was a small lolita date for gelato at a local gelateria where we spent time hanging out over coffee and gelato.

For those of you who are new to Lolita or wish to know more about Lolita let me explain International Lolita Day.  There are two a year and it is always the first Saturday in June and December. Why? So everyone can celebrate at least one Winter Lolita Day and one Summer Lolita Day around the world. It is a day where we dress up in our favorite outfits and hang out with good friends or our Local communities. We spent it with our friends and a few new people.

I wish we took more photos but we didn't get that chance to so let me share what we have on our phones!

That was soo much fun I can't wait to get the gang back together again!

Until next time!
